The hamlet of Pião is 1km from the town of Góis, and takes advantage of an area of gently sloping land and a little valley that provides water. There are two old quintas, one completely derelict, built from the round stones typical of this area, and a handful of newer houses that follow the road through the village. The large pine trees around the village show signs that they were once tapped for resin collection, and there is still a small herd of sheep and goats that graze the pasture.
