Vale Torto is located on a small plateau on the side of the impressive Pena de Góis. An old quinta, and a few xisto cottages make up the old part of the village, in a little valley at the rear of the plateau.
There are several large new houses spread around the plateau, visible from the N2, Góis to Pampilhosa de Serra road across the valley, but the older part of the village is hidden. A short walk east, takes you to the village swimming pool, fed by a mountain stream. In the valley below the village there is a narrow pack-horse bridge, and below that, a small mill with its horizontal mill-wheel and mill-stones still in place.
