We apologise for there not being any properties on this site, as we are currently applying for an official license to sell properties in Portugal. In the meantime, we are developing the website to promote the area and the local villages. We hope this will give you a better idea of the Góis region, as it is one of the most beautiful areas in Central Portugal. This website will show you the individual villages in pictures and descriptions, including the history of the locality, aspects of community life, and the natural history of the area. As soon as we receive our license we can officially display the properties on our website, and we expect to unveil over 100 new and exciting properties from historic town houses to entire mountain villages.
Life in Góis. Our Spring Diary proved to be so popular, and we have had so many requests to continue it, that we have decided to make a regular feature of daily life in and around Góis. This way we can share with you our experiences in words and pictures, and pass on what we learn. We hope you enjoy it!
We would like to thank local communities for their support, and for the time given by individuals who have helped create the ethics and policies of the company.
We would also like to thank Professor João Alves Simões, the Góis historian, for the time that he has given to the project of promoting the history of the Góis region.
The Góis region (concelho) is made up of five parishes, or ‘freguesias’: Alvares, Cadafaz, Colmeal, Góis and Vila Nova do Ceira.
Over the past months, we have been exploring the villages in each freguesia, creating a pictorial record and talking to the local inhabitants about their village. In this way we have not only been building up our knowledge of the region, but also finding out some fascinating local history and legends, as well as hearing some unique personal stories and memories.
