Besides our website displaying property for sale in Central Portugal and showing the beauties of the Góis region, we have added to it a forum for information exchange. We would like to thank the Municipal Council of Góis, local companies, and local communities for their support; and also individuals who have given their time to help create the ethics and policies of this company.
We would also like to thank Professor João Alves Simões, the Góis historian, for the time that he has given to the project of promoting the history of the Góis region.
The Góis region (concelho) is made up of five parishes, or ‘freguesias’: Alvares, Cadafaz, Colmeal, Góis and Vila Nova do Ceira.
Over the past months, we have been exploring the villages in each freguesia, creating a pictorial record and talking to the local inhabitants about their village. In this way we have not only been building up our knowledge of the region, but also discovering some fascinating local history and legends, as well as hearing some unique personal stories and memories.
To discover more about a particular village, first click on the relevant freguesia name, and that will bring you to the villages of that area.
